The Clean Water Act (CWA) regulates the discharge of pollutants into the waters of the United States and regulates the water quality standards for surface water. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) established the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program that allows industrial and municipal entities to discharge stormwater and waste water through permits with established regulatory limits and reporting requirements. Spirit’s staff of engineers and scientists has the experience and capability to assist our clients in preparing discharge permits such as a Multi-Sector General Permit or an individual site-specific permit. Our staff also has extensive regulatory agency experience and relationships that allow for obtaining permits quickly with minimal negotiation.

Water, wastewater, and stormwater permitting services include:

  • NPDES or SPDES Notice of Intent (NOI) to Discharge Wastewater or Stormwater
  • NPDES or SPDES Notice of Termination (NOT) to Discharge Wastewater or Stormwater
